We are on a continuous journey of sustainable development, taking concrete steps to evolve our business, focusing on key environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities, setting realistic and meaningful targets for our company to achieve.

Progressive action

• Invested in initiatives to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions at both of our refineries and are now more than halfway toward our 2030 GHG target. 

• Executed two successful planned outages to upgrade facilities at our Saint John and Whitegate refineries. 

• Invested in two renewable natural gas projects to support decarbonization efforts within our operations. 

• Ramped up biofuels production at our Whitegate refinery, which reduces carbon emissions by up to 90 per cent. 

• Expanded our EV charging network and unveiled more Irving-branded chargers. 

• Female representation in leadership roles increased to 35% in 2023, with a goal of 40% by 2030. 

• Provided more than $6.8 million in community investments, supporting more than 450 causes in our operating regions. 

• Increased employee participation in Good Energy in Action giving program to 37%, empowering employees to make positive impacts in their communities.
